Cathedral Uzhgorod

The Castle Hill is an incomparable adornment of Uzhhorod. The Grand Greek Catholic Cathedral with the residency of Greek Catholic Bishops, as if guarding the spiritual calmness of people, observes the city from this hill. The emergence of such building in the middle of XVII century is to be connected with the reform of Catholic Church in Austrian Empire, and with active support of Ung County by Drugeth family.
