Casa Muzeu Rogoz

The museum house in Rogoz, MAramures, Romania, is located in the center of the village, just near the UNESCO wooden Church. It was build on the place of the former orthodox confessional school as a place of remembrance and to transmit from generation to generation the life experience of the village man. It was build from fir timber and it represents a tyipical peasant house. Decorated in a traditional style, it hosts different local objects that were used in everyday life. Being surrounded by a generous green area it can also host various events that bring together local craftsmen and carry out activities specific to traditional crafts. The person in charge of the Museum House, Călina Mârzac, knows the local craftsmen and can be a mediator between them and tourists. Seeing local craftsmen working together in this beautiful place can be an authentic experience of what village life activities mean.
