Boldogkő vára

The castle of Boldogkő is located on top of an oval andesitic hill on the outskirts of the village of Boldogkőváralja. The castle was built in the 13th century and has been owned by numerous families and has operated in times of peace and war as well. This present condition of the castle was created by the reconstruction works in 2002. Under the castle visitors can find the Castrum Boldua medieval restaurant.
