The Avasi pincesor means little streets of wine cellars on the downtown side of the Avas hill in Miskolc. About 300 years ago, 800-100 cellars were established here, where the owners of the time stored their best wines. They came by horse-drawn carriage up the steep hillside and carried their loads. Nowadays, there are two major events to be mentioned in connection with these streets: the annual Borangolás wine festival and the Avasi Kvaterka monthly event. At these events, the owners open their wine cellars, prepare some snacks and you can go from cellar to cellar, tasting different wines and having pleasant conversations.
